Competitive padel, social mixers, and what's coming up in the NZ padel calendar.

New Zealand's flagship padel tournament returns for its second year. Auckland hosts from April 12-14, with entries now open across four divisions: Open, A Grade, B Grade, and Social.
The format is round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds, ensuring every team gets multiple matches. Registration is through the Padel NZ website. Entry fees range from $40 (Social) to $80 (Open) per team.
Most NZ clubs run weekly or fortnightly social mixers where players of all levels are welcome. Partners rotate, games are short, and the emphasis is on fun rather than competition. These are the best way to meet other players and find regular playing partners.
Several clubs have developed internal leagues with teams competing across divisions. Hamilton's Padel Park has an 8-team league, and Auckland clubs are developing similar competitions.
Many clubs offer dedicated beginner sessions with coaching included. These are ideal for first-timers who want a guided introduction before booking regular court time.
